Problem with Halo powerup

I just finished sector (-13, -4), and something weird happened. I got both the Halo and Control powerups at the same time, but the ball wouldn't stick to my paddle like it normally would using Control. Is this just one of the things Halo does, or is this not supposed to happen?

We've asked the admins, and got an answer similar to: The Halo ball being Ethereal, even the most powerful interstellar glues have no effect on the transformed drilling balls.

So this is normal, just to add a little spice to the game

Or they're simply trying to say it's a programming bug they can't be bothered to fix .
